How fat do you need to be to make yourself bulletproof?
Science shows that a 9mm bullet shot from a hand gun can cut through 60cm of fat before it stops.
However, it will cause a cubic centimetre of damage for every centimetre travelled, so even if it stops before reaching the organs the shock could cause internal damage.
Experts reached the result using gelatine with a similar consistency to human fat, but did not take into account the possibility of the bullet being stopped by bone.
The downside is, of course, you are more likely to die from obesity-related diseases than ever catch a bullet.
There have been real life examples of body fat saving lives in a gun attack, however.
