It was stressed at the meeting that the countries cooperate in the military sphere at the bilateral level and within the NATO various programs.
Referring to the military-political situation in the region, Hasanov said that Armenia is the main threat to stability in the region and stressed the importance of resolving the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as part of the norms and principles of international law and the UN Security Council relevant resolution.
In turn, Juozas Olekas said that interstate connections are based on friendly relations. He said that there is a need for more intensive cooperation.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed. Olekas’s visit will last till October 10.
