Critical day for Azerbaijan
Azerbaijani hostages
The court hearing of the criminal case into the two members of Azerbaijani citizens taken hostages by Armenians will get underway on Monday morning in Stepanakert, Karabakh.

The fake `trial` will be held at the Stepanakert Court of First Instance, with Judge Anatoli Tadevosyan presiding over.

Attorney Arkadi Israyelyan will be the legal defender of the hostages.

Dilgam Askerov is illegally charged for espionage; unauthorized border trespass; kidnapping and violence against a minor, committed by an organized group; murder committed by an organized group motivated by ethnic hatred; attempt of murder of two persons, committed by an organized group, motivated by ethnic hatred. Shahbaz Guliyev is illegally charged for espionage; unauthorized border trespass; kidnapping and violence against a minor, committed by an organized group; murder committed by an organized group motivated by ethnic hatred.

Dilgam Askerov and Shahbaz Guliyev have been taken hostage by Armenian Armed Forces within the borders of the Azerbaijan Republic recognised by the entire world and the United Nations.

This would be the first ever fake trial to be held for visiting one’s home and graves of the relatives. It’s not occasional that on October 2, a meeting between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia on the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will be held in Paris with the mediation of President of France Francois Hollande. Like Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev, more than one million Azerbaijanis suffer from the unsettled Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Illegal imprisonment of Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev and severe tortures faced by them, as well as the trial are provocations aimed to undermine the negotiation process.
