Azerbaijan ready to host world trampoline gymnastics championships - FIG
Azerbaijan is completely ready to host world championships in trampoline gymnastics, member of the FIG Trampoline Technical Committee Dmitri Poliaroush told March 2, AzVision.az reports citing Trend.
The FIG delegate said that he got very good impressions from his another visit to Baku.

“It is my third time in Baku, and I like it here very much, it`s a nice city,” he said. "I want to say that Baku is such a hospitable city! I was very pleasantly surprised."

As for the organizing level, Poliaroush said that everything is at the highest level.

"Of course, the main thing is still ahead,” he said. “But today everything is great. Computers and other equipment are prepared. Everything is new and works perfectly."

Poliaroush added that the strongest athletes from Russia, Belarus, Japan and the US will arrive to participate in the FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics in Baku, to be held in Baku March 5-6.

"That is why, the FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics level will be quite high,” he said. “Though it is the first competition in 2016, but I think that athletes are ready to perform well, as a test tournament will be held in Rio de Janeiro in April."

Azerbaijan definitely has a great future in trampoline gymnastics, according to him.

“The country has good athletes, who already started to win awards. The same Ilya Grishunin won a bronze medal in the European Games in Baku,” said Poliaroush adding that Svetlana Makshtareva is very strong among women athletes.

“In general, Azerbaijan is ready to host world championships, because the country has everything necessary: gyms, excellent organizers, volunteers, who help and work perfectly,” said Poliaroush.

“I am sure that the World Cup would have been very well held in Azerbaijan,” he added.

Poliaroush noted that the World Cup in Artistic Gymnastics will be held in 2019 and the Trampoline Gymnastics European Championships in 2018 in Baku.
