Police find car bomb in SE Turkey
Before it was defused, the car carried 150 kg of explosives and was parked near a regional government office
Turkish police Friday found a bomb in a car parked near a regional government office in the southeastern province of Diyarbakir.

Police sources told Anadolu Agency that a car laden with about 150 kg of explosives was found in front of Hurriyet Primary School, about 50 meters from the regional government office in the Diyarbakir province’s Hani district.

A ceremony marking Martyrs Remembrance Day and the 101st anniversary of the Battle of Canakkale was scheduled to be held Friday in the government office.

A bomb team successfully defused the explosive.

The news comes five days after a suicide car bomb attack claimed by PKK terrorist organization targeted Turkish capital Ankara`s central transportation hub, killing 35 people and wounding scores of others.

The governor’s office has yet to issue a statement on the incident.

Sources said that an investigation to find the perpetrators continues.
