BP, co-venturers spend $4.5M on social projects in Azerbaijan

Aslanbayli made this statement at an event dedicated to the presentation of IT certificates to 50 community members of the Sangachal and Umid residential areas near Baku.

The IT Essentials Course for communities is specifically designed to help community members develop CISCO certified IT skills and capacities that would open up new employment opportunities for participants.

All the 50 graduates, 12 female and 38 male, were certified by the Qafqaz University’s CISCO licensed courses completing the full three-month programme presented by the University’s instructors.

Aslanbayli said that BP is fully satisfied with the results of the pilot project.

“This is a pilot project and, depending on its success, we are planning to continue it in a Phase 2 which is expected to be of a wider scale,” he said. “Phase 2 will target 100 community members from the Garadagh region, as well as additional 100 people to be selected from the communities of the regions along our pipelines”.
