Hill International receives contract to support TAP construction
The US construction consulting firm Hill International received a contract from Technipetrol Hellas SA, an affiliate of Technip SA, to provide project management support services in connection with construction of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), Hill International has said on its website.
“This is a massive undertaking that will have an enormous impact on the energy supply and overall regional economy of Southern Europe,” said Raouf S. Ghali, Hill’s chief operating officer.

“Hill is very excited to be assisting Technip with this important project,” added Ghali.

Hill International, with 4,800 professionals in 100 offices worldwide, provides program management, project management, construction management, construction claims and other consulting services primarily to the buildings, transportation, environmental, energy and industrial markets.

TAP project envisages transportation of gas from the Stage 2 of development of Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz gas and condensate field to the EU countries.

The 870-kilometer pipeline will be connected to the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) on the Turkish-Greek border, run through Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea, before coming ashore in Italy’s south.

TAP’s initial capacity will be 10 billion cubic meters of gas a year, expandable to 20 billion cubic meters. The pipeline’s construction is planned to start in mid-2016.
