The UN Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture (SPT) is to return to Azerbaijan after receiving assurances from the Azerbaijani authorities, according to a message posted on the website of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
The message said the SPT’s September 2014 mission in Azerbaijan was suspended after it encountered obstructions in carrying out its mandate.
