Sixteen PKK terrorists killed in SE Turkey operations
According to the Turkish military, PKK terrorists are killed in the Sirnak, Mardin, and Hakkari provinces.
The Turkish General Staff said in a statement that seven terrorists were "neutralized" in the Mardin province’s Nusaybin district, bringing the total number of terrorists killed there since operations began to 274.

In the Sirnak province, four terrorists were killed, bringing the total number of terrorists killed in the province to 218 since operations began.

The military also said five terrorists were killed in the Hakkari province’s Yuksekova district, making it 188 terrorists killed in the district since operations began.

Also during the operations, many Kalashnikov rifles and grenades were seized. In addition, many improvised explosive devices were also disposed of.

Turkey’s southeast has been the scene of significant military operations since December 2015, as the police and army seek to clear the terrorist organization PKK from urban areas.

The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S., and the EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.

Since then, over 400 members of the security forces -- including troops, police officers and village guards -- have been martyred, and more than 3,700 PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
