AzVision.az reports with reference to AzerTag that the article quotes Azerbaijan`s Minister of Youth and Sports, chief executive of Baku - 2015 Azad Rahimov as saying:
"We are glad to present the mascots -gazelle and pomegranate- to the world. We hope that can reflect the excitement of the first European Games. The mascots of Baku - 2015 will encourage, inspire and entertain the new generation fans in Azerbaijan".
The author notes that the gazelle will accompany the guests from the Caucasus mountains to the Caspian shore, tell them of the beauty of Azerbaijan.
As one of the most protected species of Azerbaijani fauna, gazelle is the symbol of the beauty, tenderness and pureness of nature. The pomegranate widely spread in our country as a colorful brand of Baku - 2015 has already become popular in Baku.
