Event dedicated to Azerbaijan was held at the Cedar-Sinai Medical Center
Supported by the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles, the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, which is one of the most renowned hospitals in the U.S., hosted an event dedicated to Azerbaijan.
Entitled “Azerbaijan: Crossroads of Civilizations. Untold Stories from the Heart of Eurasia”, the event attracted many employees of Cedars-Sinai, including well-known doctors and medical scholars. Opening the event, Dr. Yzhar Charuzi, the famous cardiologist and the president of the Cedars-Sinai`s Alumni Association, briefly informed the audience about Azerbaijan and shared his impressions from his recent trip to the country. Then, the Consul General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles Nasimi Agayev was invited to address the audience. In his speech, Nasimi Agayev spoke of Azerbaijan`s history and steady development as an independent nation, its oil strategy, relations with US, Europe, Israel and neighboring countries, as well as the illegal military occupation of Azerbaijan`s territories by Armenia,
AzerTAc reports.

Highlighting the ancient traditions of tolerance in Azerbaijan, the Consul General said that “Azerbaijan regards its ethnic and religious diversity as its richness and wealth”. The presentation was followed by a lively Q&A session.

Afterwards, the participants were invited to listen to Azerbaijani Mugham performed by the master of Azerbaijani Kamancha, professor of Azerbaijani music at the Stanford University Imamyar Hasanov, who captivated the audience with his virtuosity.

The event concluded with the demonstration of a movie “O olmasin, bu olsun” (If not this one, the other one), one of the best-known classics of Azerbaijani cinema.
