Caspian Sea to become well-trodden route for cargo transportation to Central Asia
After political tensions between Turkey and Russia, a discount was imposed on Turkish trucks moving to the Central Asia through the Caspian Sea, Turkish Economic Minister Mustafa Elitash told Anadolu agency.
“The price was earlier made $2,900-3,300. However, it was reduced to $1,700. After political tensions with Russia, the Caspian Sea attaches great importance for us. Of course, this route will be used more for cargo-transportation to the Central Asia”, Elitash said.

On March 31, Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company has imposed 20% discount on tariffs for transportation via Baku-Turkmenbashi-Baku route. The current price ($1,072) also includes trucker’s ticket.
