SOCAR signs new contract as part of Baku
The Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery and France`s Air Liquide signed a contract for construction of a hydrogen production unit, Azerbaijan`s state oil company SOCAR said May 3.

The hydrogen production unit will be built in the refinery`s territory.

The contract was signed by Elman Ismayilov, director of the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery, and Domenico D`Elia, vice president of the Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions.

David Mammadov, SOCAR vice president for refining, Tofig Gahramanov, SOCAR vice president for strategic development, and the Air Liquide management representatives Jorg Ott and Benjamin Bugeat also took part in the signing ceremony.

Modernization of the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery will be completed by late 2020.

After completion of the modernization, the processing capacity of the refinery will increase to 7.5 million tons of oil a year.
