Azerbaijan to be represented at NATO meeting on Afghanistan
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will attend a NATO meeting on Afghanistan at the level of foreign ministers of the NATO member-states, to be held at its headquarters in Brussels, the Azerbaijani foreign ministry said Dec. 2
Mammadyarov plans to deliver speech at the meeting and to hold bilateral meetings.

While showing solidarity with the Afghan people and the international community, Azerbaijan joined the International Security Assistance Force (İSAF) operations in Afghanistan. The number of Azerbaijani services in the ISAF forces in Afghanistan doubled in 2009. At present, their number is 90. The real cooperation started with the mine clearance training of Afghan specialists. The beginning of Azerbaijani military doctors’ activity in Afghan hospitals and Afghans’ education at the Medical University of Azerbaijan and so on are underway.
