Azerbaijan to hold national championships on wrestling
Next Azerbaijani Championships on Senior Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling will be held in Baku on December 13-15.
Co-organized by the Youth and Sports Ministry and Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AGF), the competition will be held in “Sarhadchi” Olympic Sports Center.

Sportsmen at the age of 18, born in 1996 and older will compete in the championship.

Sports associations, clubs, organizations, city and region teams will take part at the event.
The competitions will be watched by judges, appointed by the AGF’s Judicial Board in accordance with the rules of the World Wrestling Union.

Freestyle wrestling sportsmen will compete at 57, 61, 65, 70, 74, 86, 97 and 125 kg categories, while sportsmen on Greco-Roman style, at 59, 66, 71, 75, 80, 85, 98 and 130 kg.

First weighing will be carried out at 16:00 on December 12.

On the first day of the championship sportsmen at 57, 61, 65, 70, 74 kg categories will compete. On December 14, freestyle wrestlers will fight at the category of 86, 97 and 125 kg, while Greco-Roman sportsmen will compete at 59, 66, and 71 kg. On the last day, remaining sportsmen at 75, 80, 85, 98 and 130 kg category will fight on Greco-Roman style.

The sportsmen who will take the first three places in each category will be awarded with a diploma, medal and money prizes. These sportsmen will be included in the national team.
