Rhythmic gymnasts, jumpers to compete in national events at National Gymnastics Arena
On May 12-14, Rhythmic Gymnastics and Trampoline Gymnastics fans will fill the stands of the National Gymnastics Arena.
On the event`s first day, 20 gymnasts representing Baku Gymnastics School will perform on tumbling track within the framework of Azerbaijan and Baku Championship among Age Categories in Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling. At the tournament in tumbling, a sequence number of which is 14, the athletes will define the winners in four age groups (seniors - born in 1999 and older; juniors - 2000-2002; pre-juniors - 2003-2006; youngsters - 2007 and younger).

Trampoline and Rhythmic gymnasts will join the Championship among age categories on May 13-14. 28 gymnasts (18 men and 10 women) representing Baku Gymnastics School and "Ojaq Sport" Club will participate in Trampoline Gymnastics competitions to be held in the country for the second time. Men will compete for medals within four age groups (seniors - born in 1999 and older; pre-juniors - 2003-2006; children - 2006-2007; minors - 2008-2010), while women compete within three age categories (1999 and older; pre-juniors - 2003-2006; minors - 2008-2010).

As for the most graceful gymnastics discipline, 21 gymnasts representing Baku Gymnastics School, Republican Complex Sports School, "Ojaq Sports" Club, "Spartak", "Sarhadchi", Ganja and Kurdamir, will perform in 23rd Azerbaijan Championship in Rhythmic Gymnastics both in senior (born in 2000 and older) and junior (2001-2003) programs. Senior gymnasts will compete for medals in the all-around (a hoop, a ball, clubs, a ribbon), while the juniors define the winners in apparatus finals (a rope, a hoop, a ball, clubs) as well. This tournament distinguishes itself with an increased number of participants in the age groups included into the regulations of the country`s Championship, which is an indicator of the growing interest and high development level of this gymnastics discipline.

In the course of the competitions, breath-taking performances of bronze medalist in Trampoline Gymnastics of the Baku 2015 First European Games - Ilya Qrishunin, bronze medal winner of the European Championships in Double Mini-Trampoline Dmitry Fedorovskiy, silver medalist of the European Games` Rhythmic Gymnastics events and participant of the forthcoming Rio 2016 Olympic Games Marina Durunda, as well as the exhibition performances of teams in group exercises, contests and stirring flashmob await for the audience.

At the end, gymnasts will adorn the floor with their performances demonstrating harmony of sports, art and wonderful world of dance at traditional Gala.

The competitions in Tumbling (May 12) will be held at the subsidiary hall of MGA and entry is free.

Tickets for the joint competitions in Rhythmic Gymnastics and Trampoline Gymnastics (May 13 & 14), to be held on the main arena of MGA, are available at the ticket office of MGA, as well as at "Bazarstore" supermarkets (Khatai and "Mall 28").
