Int`l eGov forum opens in Baku
An international forum "eGov3.0: trends and new opportunities" kicked off in Baku on the second day of the BakuTel 2014 exhibition on December 3.
The event is organized by the Azerbaijani Communications and High Technologies Ministry in partnership with the United Nations Development Program and Microsoft.

The forum is aimed to create a global platform in Azerbaijan for an exchange of views to identify future development trends, best practices and innovative solutions in the field of electronic management and e-government.

In addition, it is planned to form the basis of the exchange of experience in the field of e-government and e-governance between various state agencies, domestic and foreign experts and scholars.

The forum is attended by Azerbaijan’s Communications and High Technologies Minister Ali Abbasov, Deputy Communications and High Technologies Minister Elmir Velizade, Deputy Resident Representative of the UNDP Nato Alhazishvili, Microsoft’s General Manager for Central and Eastern Europe Trudy Norris-Grey, heads of profile departments of the World Bank, as well as other high officials.

The establishment and development of the e-government in Azerbaijan is aimed to encourage fruitful works of the state bodies and to guarantee its transparency and reduce bureaucracy.

The e-government is aimed to reduce poverty, to provide suitable conditions for the population`s prosperity and to address the issues reflected in the state program on poverty reduction and sustainable development in 2008-2015.

The portal launched in early 2012 has integrated services of all government agencies into one package.

Access to the portal is possible through different ways and means including electronic digital signature, identity data of private entrepreneurs and citizens, using verification data such as login and password, as well as mobile authentication system, which can be obtained in electronic form after registering on the portal.

This year, Bakutel brought together more than 250 companies from 23 countries, including leading ICT companies, Azerbaijani mobile operators, telecom operators, internet service providers, system integrators and distributors of famous brands.

As usual, BakuTel presents a business program, which will feature a conference, seminars, round tables, and business and internet forums in Baku Expo Center.
