Council of National Coordinators to discuss preparation for SCO summit in Tashkent
The Council of National Coordinators of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member-states will discuss at its meeting the preparation for the SCO summit, the Uzbek foreign ministry said May 19.
"The representatives of Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will discuss the pace of preparation for the SCO summit, the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers in Tashkent, as well as other issues on the agenda of Uzbekistan`s chairmanship in the SCO," the ministry said.

The meeting of national coordinators will be held in Tashkent May 20-22. The SCO summit will be held in Tashkent June 23-24.

The SCO members are China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Afghanistan, Iran, Mongolia and Belarus are the SCO observer-countries, while Turkey, Azerbaijan, Sri Lanka, Armenia, Cambodia and Nepal are dialogue partners.

A procedure was launched at the SCO summit in Ufa in July 2015 for admission of India and Pakistan to the organization.
