Iran says warned on US spying drone
A high-ranking military commander says that Iran warned of an American spying drone.
Commander of Iran`s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) affiliated Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili said that Iran warned of the U.S.`s U-2 Drone last week and the country`s missile systems were ready to shoot, but the drone returned outright getting the warning signal, Tasnim News Agency reported on Dec.8.

He didn`t give further information about the region where the American U-2 Drone interred and returned.

The Lockheed U-2 (Dragon Lady) is a single-engine, ultra-high altitude reconnaissance aircraft operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) and previously flown by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Before, Iran said that the U.S. RQ-170 drone was downed with minimal damage by the Iranian Army`s electronic warfare unit on December 4, 2011, while flying over the Iranian city of Kashmar, some 225 kilometers (140 miles) from the Afghan border.

Iran also said in August that an Israeli drone has been downed by a surface-to-air.
