He said the statement made by the Azerbaijani Attorney General’s Office rules out any political motive in her arrest.
Hasanov added that in this regard, the statements of some local and foreign circles and organizations on the matter are biased and unfounded, and create an impression of a process controlled from a single center.
“We believe that these politicized statements also have a nature of pressure on the law enforcement bodies’ unbiased investigation on this case in accordance with the legislation of Azerbaijan,” Hasanov said.
He further noted that Azerbaijan, which is a rule-of-law and democratic state, fully secures all freedoms, including the freedom of speech and information, and each citizen’s right to freedom of expression.
Hasanov said no journalist is arrested and will not be arrested in Azerbaijan for activities within the framework of existing laws, for their opinion or political views.
