Real Madrid`s 11th European Cup and Champions League wins - VIDEO
Real Madrid have won the European Cup/Champions League for the 11th time. We look back at their triumphs.
Real Madrid 4-3 Stade de Reims, 1956

The inaugural European Cup final took place in Paris on June 13 1956, with Stade de Reims aiming to secure France a maiden triumph. They raced into a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes but Real came from behind to win thanks to goals from Alfredo Di Stefano and Marquitos, as well as two from Hector Rial, to herald a period of domination on the continent.

Real saw off Manchester United`s Busby Babes in the 1957 semi-final and defended their title on home soil. Their Italian opponents, Fiorentina, held out until the 69th minute when Di Stefano scored a controversial penalty and Francisco Gento added a second to ensure the trophy stayed in Madrid.

Real Madrid 3-2 AC Milan, 1958

Di Stefano was on the scoresheet once more as Real won a third title in a row. Juan Alberto Schiaffino had opened the scoring for AC Milan and Ernesto Grillo put them 2-1 up after Di Stefano`s equaliser. But Rial hit back once more for Real before Gento grabbed the victory in extra-time.

Real Madrid 2-0 Stade de Reims, 1959

Real made it four out of four in 1959 by beating 1956 finalists Stade de Reims 2-0. Enrique Mateos put Real ahead in the first minute in Stuttgart before Di Stefano wrapped up another title in the second half.

Real Madrid 7-3 Eintracht Frankfurt, 1960

Real Madrid`s dominance of Europe continued into a fifth-straight European Cup final - and their 1960 triumph over Eintracht Frankfurt was one of their most legendary. Ferenc Puskas scored four and Di Stefano bagged a hat-trick as Real emerged victorious from a thriller in front of 127,000 people at Hampden Park.

Real Madrid 2-1 Partizan Belgrade, 1966

After final defeats to Benifca and Inter Milan, Real Madrid got their hands back on the European Cup in 1966. Partizan Belgrade took the lead through Velibor Vasovic in the 55th minute but Amancio Amaro quickly equalised and, in the 76th minute, Fernando Serena grabbed the winner to take the trophy back to Madrid. However, it would be a long wait for title number seven.

Real Madrid 1-0 Juventus, 1998

Real Madrid had to wait 32 years for their next European Cup/Champions League. Real finally broke `the curse` by edging out a Juventus side who had reached their third successive final and included a certain Zinedine Zidane. Predrag Mijatovic grabbed the winning goal in the 66th minute at the Amsterdam Arena to end the drought.

Real Madrid 3-0 Valencia, 2000

Real headed back to Paris looking to bury the ghosts of defeat to Liverpool in the 1981 final. A header from Fernando Morientes and a spectacular Steve McManaman volley put them 2-0 up before Raul sealed the win, and title number eight, with a breakaway third.

Real Madrid 2-1 Bayer Leverkusen, 2002

The defining moment of a stellar club career for Zidane. Raul had put Real ahead only for Lucio to equalise for the German underdogs. But in the 45th minute Roberto Carlos crossed and France superstar Zidane executed a stunning volley into the top corner. The Spanish side would go on to secure their ninth title.

Real Madrid 4-1 Atletico Madrid, 2014

Atletico were hanging onto Diego Godin`s first-half header for dear life and were moments from a shock victory when Sergio Ramos equalised in the third minute of stoppage time. Real then steamrollered their neighbours in extra-time with Gareth Bale, Marcelo and Cristiano Ronaldo on target.

Real Madrid 1-1 Atletico Madrid, 2016 (Real win 5-4 on penalties)

The Madrid rivals met again in the Champions League final two years later and Ramos was on the scoresheet once more, tapping in from close range. However, Yannick Carrasco levelled for Atletico and the sides couldn`t be separated after 30 minutes of extra-time. After eight faultless penalties Juanfran fired against the woodwork and Cristiano Ronaldo - who else? - slotted in the winning spot-kick.
