Evening of Azerbaijani Culture held in the German city of Dresden with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation-PHOTOS
Another event was organized within the framework of the Days of Azerbaijani Culture in the city of Dresden, Germany with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and by assistance of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Germany.
Participants of the event held in Albertinum Museum listened to works by Azerbaijani and world composers performed by the State Chamber Orchestra of Azerbaijan named after Gara Garayev.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Germany Parviz Shahbazov noted that the evening of culture was held following the initiative of Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva. The diplomat talked about the development processes, historical roots and current state of the relations between Azerbaijan and Germany. He also mentioned that Karabakh, the music cradle of Azerbaijan, and surrounding districts have been occupied by Armenia.

The host of the event talked about the German legacy existing in Azerbaijan, as well as the works carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation towards preserving cultural legacy both in Azerbaijan and abroad, and popularization of cultural relations and improving education opportunities for the youth.

Participants of the event were also presented the book “German Legacy in Azerbaijan”, a new publication of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, prepared with close participation of professor Eva Maria Auch, the head of “History of Azerbaijan” Department at the Humboldt University, Berlin. Within the framework of the event was also demonstrated a photo-exhibition called “German Traces in Azerbaijan” and an exhibition comprised of the works of the winners of the art competition on the subject “Germany through an Artist’s Eyes”.

The event was attended by members of the Dresden City Municipality, Director of the Dresden Philharmonic Anslem Rose, Director of the Dresden Museums Union Guisbert Porzman, member of the city’s Chamber of Trade and Industry Helput Goltz, Rector of the Dresden Academy of Art Matias Flüge, Director of the Dresden State Museum Erika Eschebach, member of the Dresden Opera Directorate Solweig Eckert, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Germany, mass media, as well as heads of the Muslim, Orthodox and Jewish religious communities of the Land of Saxony.
