Norwegian Ambassador to Azerbaijan visits city of Ganja
Norwegian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Bard Ivar Swendsen has visited Ganja to familiarize himself with the district.
In the meeting held in Ganja Executive Authority the chief executive of Ganja Elmar Veliyev informed the Ambassador about this ancient city, its industrial potential, culture, as well as employment of residents.

The Norwegian diplomat was also informed about the plight of refugees and internally displaced persons suffering from Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and settled in Ganja and the head of state’s attention on settlement of their social and domestic issues.

The Ambassador expressed his gratitude for hospitality and hailed the boosting diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Norway. He noted there are ample opportunities for further development between the two countries in political, economic and humanitarian cooperation.

The Ambassador hailed the support of the Kingdom of Norway for a peaceful solution to the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, within the territorial integrity and inviolability on the basis of internationally recognized borders.

Following the meeting, the Norwegian diplomat was presented an album with pictures of the Heydar Aliyev Park Complex and originally published works of the great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi.
