Erdogan reminds Yerevan about illegal Armenian immigrants in Turkey
If Turkey was an enemy of Armenians, Ankara would have deported illegal Armenian immigrants from the country long ago, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, TRT Haber TV channel reported June 6.
He was commenting on the Bundestag`s (the German parliament`s) adoption of a resolution on recognizing the 1915 events as "Armenian genocide".

Erdogan reminded that more than 100,000 Armenians currently live in Turkey, some of which are illegal immigrants from Armenia.

"We have always urged archaeologists and historians from around the world to begin studies [on this issue], excavations," the president said. "But for some reason this call remains unanswered."

Let those who claim that the so-called genocide was committed in Turkey against the Armenians in 1915 prove this, Erdogan said.

Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that Turkey`s predecessor, the Ottoman Empire, committed the so-called genocide against Armenians living in Anatolia in 1915.

While strengthening the propaganda of "genocide" in the world, Armenians achieved its recognition by parliaments of some countries.
