Azerbaijan reveals volume of loans allocated for financing logistics centers
To date, 161 million manats worth preferential loans have been allocated in Azerbaijan for financing 52 logistics centers with the total capacity of 330,000 tons, said the article of Azerbaijan`s Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev published in the country`s official media outlets June 7.
"Modern logistics centers for storing fruits, vegetables, seeds and other food products have been built in Azerbaijan since 2009," said the minister.

Currently, 42 out of 52 logistics centers operate in the country, said Mustafayev, adding that their total capacity is 241,000 tons.

The mentioned logistics centers will make a significant contribution to ensuring food security, socio-economic development of regions, increasing their investment attractiveness, intensive development of agriculture and increasing the country`s export potential, he added.

The minister also touched upon the creation of farms and agricultural parks in Azerbaijan.

The creation of new farms in Azerbaijan with modern and intensive methods plays an important role in ensuring the food security, according to Mustafayev.

"The creation of 30 large farms with the total area of 40 hectares has been completed in 19 districts," said the minister."

He added that the first stage of the work on creating agricultural parks in Shamkir and Khachmaz districts is close to completion.
