Baku hosts meeting of Bureau of General Assembly of International Equestrian Federation
A meeting of the Bureau of the General Assembly of the International Equestrian Federation was conducted in Baku, the press service of the Equestrian Federation of Azerbaijan Republic (ARAF) told.
The meeting was attended by FEI President, Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein of Jordan and heads of national federations.

The General Assembly of the International Equestrian Federation FEI is one of the key events in the world of equestrian sport. It is annually held in different cities, and it will be held in Baku in on December 11-14, 2014 for the first time.

The most important issues of development of all equestrian sport disciplines, funding, management issues, etc. are discussed and resolved at the forum, which brings together representatives of all national federations of equestrian sport.

The event, which takes place in one of the symbols of modern Baku - Hotel Fairmont, is attended by 350 representatives of the Federation and distinguished guests from 110 countries. This is a record in the history of the FEI General Assembly. The meeting of the Bureau discussed and resolved the most important issues of all equestrian disciplines, funding issues, management, etc.

In connection with the election of the President of the International Equestrian Federation in 2014, the FEI General Assembly in Baku will be the focus of world attention. Presidential candidates are Ingmar De Vos (Belgium), Pierre Durand (France), Pierre Genesand (Switzerland), Ulf Helgstand (Denmark), John Mc Ewen (England) and Javier Revuelta del Peral (Spain). John Mc Ewen is vice president of FEI, and Ingmar De Vos is the Secretary-General of the Federation.

Equestrian Federation of Azerbaijan Republic (ARAF) was established in 1996. President of the Federation is the head of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Elchin Guliyev.
