OPEC changes estimates on global proven gas reserves
OPEC has revised down its estimates on the proven global gas reserves for end of 2015 by 0.3 percent to 201.967 trillion cubic meters.
According to OPEC Annual Statistical Bulletin, by end of 2015, Russia holds the largest proven gas reserves of 49.54 trillion cubic meters. The cartel kept its estimates for Russia’s reserves unchanged from 2014.

Iran, by end of 2015 had the second largest proven gas reserves, which amounted to 33.5 trillion cubic meters, 1.5 percent more compared to end-2014.

The third and fourth places belongs to Qatar and US with 24.299 trillion cubic meters and 11.01 trillion cubic meters of proven gas reserves respectively.

Compared to 2014, the estimates for Qatar’s reserves have been revised down by 0.9 percent. The estimates for the US reserves remained unchanged.
