President congratulates Orthodox Christian community on Easter
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has congratulated the Orthodox Christian community on the occasion of Easter.
The head of state congratulated compatriots - all the Christians of Azerbaijan - on the sacred holiday of Easter, conveying them the most sincere wishes, 1news.az reports citing the official website of the President of Azerbaijan.

According to Aliyev, in Azerbaijan, which has always maintained the tradition of high moral and ethical values and ethno-religious tolerance, warm friendship, trust and brotherhood dominated historically among the peoples.

He praised this as a great success of our state, and noted that the preservation of historical and cultural heritage and ethno-cultural differences, advocacy and the promotion of social relations based on the tradition of multiculturalism is one of the main activities of the government.

The head of state stressed that today the Orthodox Christian community, which occupies a special place in the multinational and multi-confessional Azerbaijani society, is actively involved in all spheres of public life, taking full advantage of democratic and legal situation established in the country.

According to Aliyev, the feast of Easter, which is a symbol of renewal, peace, solidarity and compassion, is celebrated annually in our country.

"May this holiday bring happiness and well-being to your families and you. Happy Holiday!" the president said in his congratulatory message.
