Azerbaijan, Poland to boost tourist flows
Azerbaijan and Poland are interested in increasing tourist flows, the Energy Minister of Azerbaijan Natig Aliyev said Dec. 15 in Baku.
He was addressing the sixth meeting of the Azerbaijani-Polish intergovernmental economic cooperation commission.

“Unlike other areas of cooperation, tourism lags so far in its development. It is necessary to coordinate our efforts to increase the tourist flows in both directions. The potential for this is very high,” Minister Aliyev said.

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister Sevda Mammadaliyeva said for her part that the dynamics of tourism stands at a low level.

“The mutual tourist flow stands at the level of 2000 visitors per year, which is a weak indicator, given the tourism potential of both countries,” she said, adding, “This may be due to the lack of information.”

“We will do our best for the people in Poland to know about the tourism potential of Azerbaijan,” Mammadaliyeva added.

A protocol was signed following the meeting of the intergovernmental commission.
