Three Australian cricketers banned for gambling on matches
All players were banned for two years but Jensen and Hall had 18 months of that penalty suspended – meaning they would serve a six-month ban, expiring this October.
Logan’s ban was wholly suspended.
CA says Jensen admitted placing one bet on the first Test between Australia and New Zealand last November; Hall confessed to putting two bets on last season’s men’s one-day domestic competition; and Logan owned up to two bets on the World Twenty20 tournament last March.
Hall and Jensen were on full state and WBBL contracts while Logan was a Futures League Player contracted on a match-by-match basis, CA said on Wednesday.
The trio would also be required to participate in anti-corruption player education programs delivered by CA.
“These players have accepted the seriousness of their errors and have voluntarily accepted their sanctions,” CA’s head of integrity Iain Roy said in a statement.
“This serves as a timely reminder to all players in cricket that the integrity of our game is a high priority and we won’t accept this being compromised.”
