Turkish parliament to launch probe over coup attempt
The Turkish parliament will launch a comprehensive probe over the July 15 failed coup attempt next week, a ruling party official has said, recalling that it was one of the main targets of the plotters, AzVision.az reports citing the Turkish Media.
“They attacked so many places but the parliament was on the top of their list,” Naci Bostancı, deputy parliamentary group leader of the Justice and Development Party (AKP), told Anadolu Agency on July 19. Bostancı said the AKP would submit its proposal next week and then lead the formation of an investigation committee.

“It’s only rational for the parliament to investigate. It will of course do it,” Bostancı said. He also recalled that all political parties represented in parliament submitted their own motions for establishing an investigation committee, saying, “We’ll make the necessary talks next week and then will form the investigation committee.”
