FIG World Cup Final 2016 started in Baku
The 2016 FIG World Cup Final in Rhythmic Gymnastics today started in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku. Thus, the Baku viewers will have unique opportunity to see the contests of eminent gymnasts from 17 world countries in two weeks prior to the main event of year - the Olympic Games in Rio.
In the first two days of competitions, 26 gymnasts and 9 teams in group exercises will fight for medals.

In the current year, 9 World Cup stages have been held. In the Baku final there will take place special awards ceremony of the gymnasts and groups which have won first place according to the 4best results shown at the previous stages.

Fans of rhythmic gymnastics will eyewitness magnificent opening the director of which is the head coach of national team Mariana Vasileva, as well as traditional Gala concert where besides the famous sportswomen, absolutely young gymnasts of Azerbaijan will appear.

Through 3-day competitions, the honor of the Azerbaijani sport will be defended by the silver medalist of the 1st European Games, the bronze prize-winner of the European championship and participant of the Olympic Games of Rio-2016 Marina Durunda and the winner of “silver” and “bronze” of the European championship among juniors Zhala Piriyeva. The team in group exercises will be presented by silver medalists of the European championship Siyana Vasilyeva, Ayshan Bayramova, Aleksandra Platonova, Diana Doman and Elif Zeynep Jelep.
