Armenia presents indictment for detained Azerbaijani hostages
The “trial” on the “criminal case” into Azerbaijani hostages Dilgam Askerov and Shahbaz Guliyev resumed Friday at the “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic”, Khankendi seat of the “NKR” First Instance General Jurisdiction Court.

At the hearings, the prosecution presented the indictment, AzVision.az reports citing to Artsakhpress. It concluded that as if, the hostages “had crossed the border illegally and without documents, and to gather information and make video recordings”.

The prosecution added that “all the evidence on the death of Karabakh teen Smbat Tsakanyan suggests that Askerov had committed this crime”.

In the end, the prosecution motioned the court that, pursuant to the “NKR” Criminal Code, Dilgam Askerov be sentenced to life in prison, and Shahbaz Guliyev be handed down a 22-year prison term.

Actually, Russian citizen Dilgam Asgarov and Azerbaijani citizen Shahbaz Guliyev were taken hostage by the Armenian Armed Forces while trying to visit their homeland in Kalbajar in July, 2014. And another Azerbaijani citizen, Hasan Hasanov, was shot to death.
