Lebanon uses Azerbaijani satellite resources
Azerkosmos OJSC signed an agreement with the Lebanese broadcaster MTV Lebanon for public broadcasting its programs via Azerspace-1 satellite, Azerkosmos said Dec. 18.
MTV Lebanon is the first Lebanese TV channel, which will be broadcast via the satellite of Azerbaijan. The satellite allows broadcast MTV Lebanon programs in the countries of Persian Gulf, Central East, North Africa and Europe.

The signing of this agreement is of great importance from the point of view of Azerkosmos’s entering the Lebanese television broadcasting, the statement said.

MTV Lebanon charged Azerkosmos with managing its mobile TV station and satellite Uplink-channel in accordance with the agreement.

Satellite operator of Azerbaijan renders services of digital television, data transmission, creation of VSAT multiservice networks via the use of Azerspace / Africasat-1a telecommunication satellite.

The first Azerbaijani satellite was launched on February 8, 2013. The satellite is located at the orbital position of 46 degrees east longitude. The service area of Azerspace / Africasat-1a includes the countries of Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Middle East and Africa.
