Ankara threatens to back away from refugee deal with EU
Turkey will withdraw from the EU agreement concerning migrant crisis unless the EU gives visa-free travel for Turks, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stated, Reuters reported.
He noted that in 2013 they signed an agreement on liberalization of visa regime, which was accompanied by the agreement on return of refugees. They also signed another agreement with the EU in March. These agreements work, but they depend on abolition of visa regime, which was also the subject of the March agreement.

“If visa liberalization does not follow, we will be forced to back away from the deal on taking back (refugees) and the agreement of March 18,” Cavusoglu stated adding that the Turkish government was waiting for a precise date for visa liberalization.
