Armenia activist charged with organizing mass unrest goes on hunger strike
Member of New Armenia front Andrias Ghukasyan charged with organizing mass unrest in Yerevan’s Sari Tagh district has gone on hunger strike, AzVision.az reports citing News.am.
His attorney Lusine Sahakyan told the aforementioned noting that Ghukasyan announced about his hunger strike during the discussion of the complaint regarding his detention at the Court of General Jurisdiction of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun Administrative Districts.

Ghukasyan noted that in Armenia the power belongs to people, and he demands the people to set up constitutional order and restore justice in Armenia through all the means available.

As reported earlier, Andrias Ghukasyan faces charges under Article 225.1 of the Armenian Criminal Code (mass disorder).
In the evening of July 29, the police carried out military operation in Yerevan’s Khorenatsi street and Sari Tagh district.

After warning about liberating the territory in front of the seized police station (Sari Tagh), the police used special means, attacking people. According to the official information, 73 people sustained bodily injuries and were transported to hospitals. Various journalists also got wounded during the protests. 165 people have been detained 26 of them being arrested.
