AzVision.az reports that, the pre-election campaign commences 23 days prior to Election Day and finishes 24 hours prior to Election Day under the Article #75.2 of the Election Code.
The pre-election campaign on the municipal elections to be held on December 23, 2014 as decided by the Central Election Commission commenced on November 30 and finished at 8:00 on December 22.
The pre-election campaign is conducted by the registered candidates, their authorized representatives, political parties, of which candidacy has been registered, party blocks.
Under the Article #8.2 of the Election Code, the Election Day is considered a non-working day within the territory where election (referendum) is held. Thus, according to this provision of the Article, December 23 will be a non-working day in Azerbaijan.
