Putin: Russia – one of those first to support Turkey after coup attempt
Relations between Russia and Turkey deteriorated after the Su-24 incident and Turkish president’s visit to Russia indicates to resumption of the dialogue, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Putin made the remarks Aug. 9 during a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in St. Petersburg, RIA Novosti reported.

The first meeting between the two countries’ presidents is being held at the Constantine Palace in St. Petersburg and started with a handshake.

Putin noted that he intends to discuss the whole range of relations with Erdogan, including the fight against terrorism, and economic ties.

Russian president expressed support to Turkey in overcoming the crisis after the July 15 coup attempt and added that he was one of those first to call Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
