Turkish military attachés to Greece flee
Several Turkish military attachés to Greece— Colonel Ilhan Yasitli (Turkish Armed Forces) and colonel Halis Tunc (Naval Forces)—have fled with their families.
Athens says there is information regarding their whereabouts, APA reported citing Hurriyet.

On August 7, the Turkish foreign ministry asked the Greek foreign ministry to cancel the accreditation of the two attachés. The Greek side fulfilled the request the same day.

The attachés had been invited to an event at the Salamis Naval Base on July 29, but they had not shown up at the event.

Greek media says the attachés have fled for fear of possible charges of having links with the masterminds of the recent coup attempt in Turkey.

The newspaper “Elefteros Tipos” writes that they have fled to Italy.
