76,100 people fired, 16,899 arrested following coup attempt in Turkey
Turkey has announced the number of people fired and arrested following the recent coup attempt in Turkey, Interior Minister Efkan Ala said 76,100 public servants have been fired in the operations against the FETO terrorist organization.
According to the minister, 5,171 people have been detained and 16,899 arrested. Of the arrested, 3,083 are police officers, 7,248 soldiers, and 2,288 judges and prosecutors.

The interior minister noted that 7,173 people are under surveillance and 3,601 have been released.

Ala added that 9 generals, 190 military servicemen and 96 police officers are wanted.
