Two Turkish military attaches to Greece fled to Italy - Cavusoglu
Two Turkish military attaches based in Greece fled to Italy after being recalled following the July 15 failed coup and Turkish authorities will contact Italian officials for their return, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Thursday.
Cavusoglu told private broadcaster NTV that the military attachés Colonel Ilhan Yasitli (Turkish Armed Forces) and colonel Halis Tunc (Naval Forces) have fled with their families to Italy.

On August 7, the Turkish foreign ministry asked the Greek foreign ministry to cancel the accreditation of the two attachés. The Greek side fulfilled the request the same day.

The attachés had been invited to an event at the Salamis Naval Base on July 29, but they had not shown up at the event.
