Six Azerbaijani sportsmen take part in Rio today

Six Azerbaijani sportsmen will take part on the 14th day of the Olympic Games in Rio.

Azerbaijani taekwondo fighters Milad Beigi (Men`s −80 kg) and Farida Azizova (Women`s −67 kg),wrestlers Haji Aliyev (men’s freestyle, −57 kg) and Jabrayil Hasanov (men’s freestyle, −74 kg), gimnast Marina Durunda (Individual) will begin the participation in the Olimpiade.

Boxer Lorenzo Sotomayor (-64 kg) will fight for advancing to the finals.

Fifty-six athletes are representing Azerbaijan at the 2016 Summer Olympics, underway in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The games, which kicked off on Aug. 5, will end on Aug. 21, and will be followed by the 15th Summer Paralympic Games on Sept. 7-18.
