"The CAS Panel in charge of this matter found that the IPC did not violate any procedural rule in dealing with the disciplinary process leading to the RPC`s suspension and that the decision to ban the RPC was made in accordance with the IPC Rules and was appropriate in the circumstances," the ruling said.
The court added that its panel "did not determine the existence of, or the extent of, any natural justice rights or personality rights afforded to individual athletes."
The Russian national Olympic team was allowed to take part in the August 5-21 Games with the notable exception of weightlifters and all but one track and field athletes. Several Russian competitors won their CAS appeals against the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and sports federations` bans.
The doping scandal, simmering since 2014, escalated in July when an independent World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) commission presented a report accusing Russia of running a state-wide doping program and urging the IOC to consider a blanket ban on the entire Russian team.
The WADA McLaren report claimed that 35 of so-called disappearing positive test results have been allegedly found in Paralympic sport.
