Azerbaijani President reviews final stage of construction work at Heydar mosque in Baku
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva have today reviewed the final stage of the construction work at the Heydar mosque in Binagadi district.

Head of the Baku City Executive Authority Hajibala Abutalibov said the construction is over and final work is being carried out, AzVision.az reports.

The mosque, constructed under the president’s order, encompasses an area of 12,000 square meters. The facade of the mosque is fully ready. The construction of 4 minarets, each 72 meters has already been completed. The facade is revetted with special ornamental stones in the Shirvan-Absheron architectural style. During construction the ornamental elements have been skillfully applied.

Ornamental work inside the mosque, with a total area of 42,000 square meters, is also about to finish. Special ornamental elements were applied here, too. Quranic verses have been written on the edges of the dome. The main dome with two additional ones, each 55 and 35 meters high respectively, give a striking beauty to the inside of the mosque.

President Ilham Aliyev gave instructions and recommendations for final work at the mosque to be done at the highest level.
