At the same time, Azerbaijani positions located in the village of Kohnegishlag of Aghstafa district, took fire from the positions located in the Paravakar village of Armenia’s Ijevan district.
Moreover, Armenian armed forces, located in the village of Barekamavan of Armenia’s Noyemberyan district, opened fire at Azerbaijani positions located in the village of Gaymagli of Gazakh district.
Azerbaijani positions also underwent fire from the positions located near the villages of Chilaburt of Terter, Yusifjanli, Merzili of Aghdam, Kuropatkino of Khojavend, Horadiz, Ashagi Seyidahmadli of Fizuli and Mehdili of Jabrayil district.
Azerbaijani positions took fire from the positions located at the nameless heights of Goranboy, Khojavend and Fizuli districts.
The opposing side was silenced with return fire.
The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan.
As a result of the ensuing war, in 1992 Armenian armed forces occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.
The two countries signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Russia, France and the US are currently holding peace negotiations.
