D. Mammadov noted that complete liquidation of Azerneftyag may be possible after finishing of improvement process of the Baku Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev in 2018.
SOCAR Vice-President for Economic Affairs Suleyman GAsimov said that Azerneftyag will completely liquidated in 2030, because new The Oil and Gas Processing and Petrochemical Complex will be launched in abovementioned date.
On December 24, 2014, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has announced about liquidation of Azerneftyag oil refinery and its merger with Baku Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev from January 1, 2015.
Liquidation of Azerneftyag will not influence the quality and volume of the fuel and bitumen, on the contrary, its merger with Baku Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev will increase quality of bitumen and fuel, SOCAR Vice-President of Refining David Mammadov said.
The Vice-President also added that complete liquidation of Azerneftyag is out of the question, because bitumen is being produced in that enterprise.
