Eating after 7 p.m. increases your risk of heart attack
It might be time to skip that midnight snack.
New studies are reporting that eating after 7 p.m. can increase your chance for heart attack, AzVision.az reports citing Aol.com.

This is because eating late causes your body to go on "high alert" as it releases stress hormones. While this may give you necessary energy early in the day, it isn`t exactly ideal when you`re supposed to be winding down for the night.

To avoid this, it`s best to avoid eating two to three hours before you go to bed.

Now, this affects more than just energy levels -- your organs can be seriously impacted as well.

Normally, nighttime is when an average person`s blood pressure lowers. If it doesn`t, the heart`s condition can be compromised. The consequences can be as serious as a chronic heart disease, or even death.

To keep your heart healthy, remember to keep meals balanced and frequent throughout the day. Eliminating late night eating is the best way to avoid a potentially dangerous spike in blood pressure.

So, your Cheerios may say they`re heart-healthy, but that`s really only when you time it right.
