`It took Azerbaijani soldiers a few hours to break through Armenia`s ‘fortified positions’`
Yashar Aydemirov, a retired lieutenant general of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, has responded to the claims by Levon Mnasakanyan, the defense minister of the separatist Nagorno-Karabakh regime.
Aydemirov said in a statement to that the Armenian military leadership, seeking to escalate the situation in the conflict region, has now begun violate the “ceasefire regime” on the Internet, too.

“The non-sense statements made to the press by Mnasakanyan, one of the representatives of the Armenian military-political leadership who suffered a major blow in the April clashes and the chief of the bandit and separatist units operating under the guise of ‘self-defense’, sound like ones uttered by someone guilty who is trying to cover up his inexperience and incapability. The fact that the Armenian criminal military-political leadership, hoping to stand on its feet at the expense of donations from various Armenian humanitarian organizations, is talking about buying new weaponry, enhancing the army’s technical capabilities, strengthening the front line defense, and the front line being ‘impenetrable’ is but a desperate attempt, which became clear after the April clashes. It took Azerbaijani soldiers just a few hours to break through the “fortified positions” Armenia’s leadership had been boasting about for years. If the Armenians have forgotten this and are thinking of carrying out further provocations, the Army is ready to repeat the same step in a sterner manner again to refresh their memory. I’m confident that the Armed Forces is fully capable of doing this,” he said.

Aydemirov noted that such statements of the opposite side are based on unawareness. “It is ridiculous that the Armenian military regime being unaware of the state of central military units is speaking about developments on the frontline and remote military units. For example, they disseminated three contrary reports about deceased Armenian military serviceman Arayik Ordubekyan within two days. They firstly accused the Azerbaijani side of the death of Armenian soldier, after a day awarded him with medal, then the so-called body headed by Mnasakanyan issued statement that the soldier was not killed by the Azerbaijani side and an investigation was launched. All of this show that this body is unaware of crime situation, anarchy prevailing within the Armenian military units, bandit and separatist groups allegedly being subordinate to it, but acting independently and what is happening in the occupied territories.

In case that the Armenian government and army are alive at the expense of the funds collected by its diaspora, various statements issued by either Armenia’s Defense Ministry’s officials or representatives of the separatist regime that their militarized are allegedly strengthened through purchase of arms and ammunition, are not convincing and evoke laughter,” he said.
