Turkey averts terrorist attack in Ataturk Airport
Turkey has averted a terrorist attack in Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport, the Sabah newspaper reported Sept. 8.
Reportedly, Turkish intelligence was informed Sept.8 that the militants of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorist organization plan to commit a terrorist attack in the airport.

PKK member Ebru Firat, who intended to smuggle explosives into the airport has been detained during the operation. No other details of the incident have been reported.

Earlier, 45 people were killed and 239 more were injured as a result of the terrorist attack in Ataturk Airport June 28.

Ataturk Airport was captured by rebels during the recent military coup attempt in Turkey.
