Turkey under rocket fire from Syria
The Turkish province of Hatay has come under rocket fire from Syria’s territory, the Turkish Haberturk newspaper reported Sept. 13.

According to the newspaper, two rocket shells launched from Syria’s territory have exploded in the province.

No casualties have been reported as a result of the shelling.

In response, Turkish armed forces inflicted strikes on the positions of the “Islamic State” (IS, aka ISIS, ISIL or Daesh) militants in Syria.

Earlier, a special security zone was created in Turkey’s Hatay province on the border with Syria.

Hatay province is periodically attacked by IS militants.
